Description

VULCAN Cast iron radiator

The Vulcan model has an “industrial” aesthetic: in fact, its style is reminiscent of the late 1800s, during the English industrial revolution.

It is made by Castrads, a foundry with 20 years’ experience.

Founded in the United Kingdom as a small family business, it now has locations around the world, employing nearly a hundred people.

The manufacturing base remains in Manchester, while an assembly plant is located in Poland.

In London and New York, Castrads has instead opened two showrooms.

Despite the rapid rise, the specialization has not changed: the main product is and always will be the cast iron radiator.

Thus they continue to create elegant, luxurious radiators.

Technical characteristics VULCAN Cast iron radiator

Vulcan differs slightly from other Castrads models, like Mercury or Grace.

In fact, it presents sharper and less rounded corners.

However, this model is also sold in three heights: 42 cm | 57 cm | 69 cm.

The finishes are varied. From the most basic (gray, white, gold, bronze, and black) to adding custom made finishes in any Ral color, either matte or glossy, upon request.

Like all of our radiators, this one can be paired with a valve kit upon request.

This kit includes a styled valve, matching lockshield, vent, cap and any adapters for iron, copper and multilayer pipes.

High quality standard, thorough testing before delivery, harmony of forms are some of the characteristics of Vulcan’s production, which creates high-end and long-lasting radiators.

The model has a unique and inimitable quality/price ratio.

It is a series of high-end, long-holding and very high quality radiators, made with the most modern melting technologies on the market today.

Ildovo srl “Caloriferionline.com” is the exclusive distributor for Italy of this fantastic line of radiators.

Why a cast iron radiator?

Cast iron is a ferrous alloy consisting mainly of iron and carbon, obtained by hot reduction of iron minerals.

It is not a moldable or malleable material, but it possesses excellent fusibility at moderate temperatures.

Over the years it has become a reference material in the plumbing and heating world, becoming the radiator par excellence.

Cast iron is an alloy with a composition practically identical to steel, but with a high percentage of carbon, which gives it greater hardness and a lower thermal expansion coefficient.

This fundamental characteristic of cast iron, added to the lubricating effect of carbon, makes it suitable for combinations where there are temperature variations.

For this reason, cast iron has been used for many years in the construction of radiators by casting.

In fact, the production process of these Liberty radiators is as interesting as it is fascinating.

The presence of carbon in large quantities also has a notable anti-rust function.

Here are summarized some of the fundamental characteristics of this material:

  • wear resistance;
  • ductile and easily workable with machine tools;
  • possibility of creating very complex and worked shapes by simple casting;
  • excellent fusibility;
  • hardness.

These radiators  are packed one by one in a wooden box and delivery is also made on pallets.

These radiators are finished by hand and normally take 4 weeks from ordering.

Quality control is also a time-consuming process and is carried out for any radiator.
